ABPA Backflow Assembly Tester Certification

This course will provide participants with the information and hands-on skill training needed to qualify and prepare for the American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA) Backflow Assembly Tester Certification exams. This includes: function, design and application of backflow prevention assemblies; USC 10th edition backflow assembly test procedures; hands-on training on the testing and troubleshooting of backflow prevention assemblies (RPBA, DCVA, PVB, SVBA); types of cross-connection hazards, identifying cross connections; backflow assembly tester safety; principles of hydraulics and the hydraulics of backflow; cross connection control codes and regulations; elements of cross connection control program. ABPA Certification Requirements: completion of 40 hour training course based on the ABPA need to know criteria; minimum score of 70% on closed book exam; successful completion of closed book "hands on" proficiency exam; submission of completed application form; applicants should have a high school diploma or GED. ABPA certification is valid for 3 years. The course fee includes course materials, ABPA Exam, and proctor fees.
